Exploring Romania – 7 Ladders Canyon
A couple of weeks ago I went on a private weekend tour sponsored by Book Tours Romania. Everywhere I went to on this tour, that was tailor made for me, as their private tours are – I absolutely loved. Romania took me by storm and is now one of my favorite countries in the world. It’s beauty is breath taking and it is still very untouched.
Imagine Hobbiton/The Shire combined with the Austrian nature in the opening scene of Sound of Music when Maria sings “the hills are alive”.
Seven Ladders Canyon
Before I went to Romania, I had searched about 7 ladders canyon but the photos didn’t impress me, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to go. But luckily my guide Bogdan, who tailor made this trip for me from the reference “I love nature”.
The pictured does not do this place justice at all. Having the walk through in such an engaging way as climbing ladders made it all the more fun.
A couple of times during the walk through the canyon, I froze because the beauty was hard to take in. I’m so thankful that I got the chance to go there, and I urge everyone to do it.
You can do this on a day trip from Bucharest. And if you get going early, you can also squeeze in a visit to Peles Castle in Sinaia. You can also get there for a day hike from Brasov.
The entry fee is 10 RON, and they also have a discount for students. If you want, you can zip-line your way back down for the price of 50 RON.
