Croatia – Zadar

I didn’t know much about Croatia, or had even thought much about going there. But the cheap price sealed the deal.
And what an amazing decision! Even though the national parks were flooded, I had an amazing time and this lead me to explore the wonderful “olive island” – Ugljan.

Zadar

I stayed a bit away from the old town, at a hostel called The Wild Fig Hostel. Since I was there before the season had started, I almost had the place all to myself. The staff was great and I am glad about the location, because in order to get to the old town, I had to walk on a beautiful promenad along the ocean, with strongly scented roses and flowers all along the way.

The old town was beautiful, and not too crowded since I was there in early May. The sea organ, Morske Orgulje, was incredible and has to be experienced if in Zadar. It is amazing how the waves and natural movements of the ocean makes this beautiful music.
