    Hi! My name is Evelina but you can call me Eve. The best thing I know is to explore new places and especially new landscapes.
    I travelled once a month for 3,5 years but that was not enough for me so since December 2016 I travel full time. I'm a freelance travel writer and travel blogger. Been to 75+ countries in 6 continents. Love nature, hiking, adrenaline and going to places I know little about. In the beginning of 2018 I decided to stop traveling by airplane because of the environmental impact.

    • SOLO TRAVEL - MEETING PEOPLE . About a week ago I wrote about loneliness while traveling, and now I’m continuing on that thread . This is me and @sandystadelmann in Stockholm last week. Sandra has also travelled alone all over the world and we found each other through Instagram actually . Something that basically all people I’ve talked to who have travelled alone all say the same - you meet so many new people when traveling alone! . I have met new friends on bars, tours, hostels, restaurants, couchsurfing, through Instagram or trough a common friend . It does get easier with time to start a conversations with strangers but often you might not have time to start before they do .     • SOLO TRAVEL - LONELINESS . One of the most common questions I get is about traveling alone. Many people send me direct messages asking about advice on how to do it, and the most common thing that holds them back is fear . So let’s talk about that fear. Let me bring up some of the most common fears keeping people from traveling alone: . Feeling lonely - Sure, there might be times where it can feel lonely, but when you travel alone you have the opportunity to meet so many new people and while it might be hard at first to start talking to strangers, it is something that gets easier as you do it . And where can you meet people when traveling? . Hostels and couchsurfing is how I have met most of my new friends while traveling, and it’s also common for some hostels to make group events like tours, pub crawls etc. and it’s so common with people traveling alone these days that most people staying in hostels also want to meet new people. It might feel scary but it is a great way to challenge your fears and make new friendships at the same time . While it might sound super cheesy, it is a really good opportunity for you to get to know yourself. To know what places and activities that you go to when no one else is around to effect your decision or impression. And being able to spend time with yourself without panicking from loneliness is something I think is not important but necessary to go through life happier . And if loneliness is something you are so afraid of, isn’t that something you want to learn how to enjoy? . Loneliness used to be my absolute biggest fear in life. Just the thought of being lonely would give me anxiety - and look at me now! I love traveling alone and I enjoy my own company. And I think this makes me a better partner too, cause I would never put the responsibility of my happiness on someone else. . WHAT ABOUT TRAVELING ALONE SCARES YOU? . 📸 by @veerabianca
    • THE PROBLEM WITH ALL INCLUSIVE TRIPS . I get it, you work hard all year and get a few weeks off a year if you're lucky. You want to get away from the stress, bad weather and constant choice making. An all inclusive resort gives you everything you need to relax without having to leave the hotel. You could, as some do, stay in the hotel area for the entire week. . The resort offers buffets and sometimes many different restaurants to chose from, there's free alcohol and ice cream. There are pools and SPA's and tour that pick you up and drop you right back at the hotel if you feel like you want to leave the resort area. . I'm pretty sure most of you haven't reflected on how a big ass resort effects the destination and the people living there. There are some very highly problematic things about this format and let me tell you a little bit about it: . These big resorts in paradise locations are often international chains and/or owned by some rich businessman from a western country. That means that the money spent on and in these locations go to someone who will be spending those money elsewhere. . When these resorts offer hotel, restaurants, tours etc. in one closed off (often fenced) space and with a combined price people pay in advance, there is no point in them spending more money outside of the resort when the meals and drinks are included at the hotel . And therefor locally owned restaurants, hotels, shops and tour companies lose business in their own village - with those money going to someone who isn't even from there. .     • WHY I STOPPED COUNTING COUNTRIES 🗺 The passport you have was given to you by pure chance. Because of where you were born or your parents nationalities I was extremely lucky to be born with Swedish nationality which automatically gives me the second most powerful passport in the world. I was given a golden ticket without having to do a thing . Going to many countries is not hard when you have a passport like mine. As long as you have money and time you can easily travel to 165 countries without having to apply for a visa beforehand. And if you apply for a visa, it would very likely get approved as long as you have no criminal records and some money in the bank . Some people can only go to as little as 30 countries without having to apply for a visa - and then when applying for a visa have a much higher risk of getting denied for reasons like not having enough money in the bank, having too much money in the bank, not being married, having too many connections in that country - or not enough. In some countries it’s even impossible for them to apply for a visa . Do you see where I’m going with this? . Everyone I know of who have or are aiming to visit to all countries in the world has either a USA passport or a strong European one. But do you know of anyone with an Afghani or Iranian passport trying to visit all the countries in the world? Now that would be not only very money, time and energy consuming but it would also be close to impossible . And that is why, I no longer “brag” about the number of countries I’ve been to. Because I no longer see it as a merit but as a privilege. . Tips on some of my favourite badass world travellers who face the difficulties of passports are @persiangypsy @nadaalnahdi @saraomar_travels @melliiic . What are your thoughts about this? . The vast majority was very positive and I’ve also gotten many private messages from people telling me how they’ve changed habits because of me. You have no idea how big that is. To feel like you are making a change. . But now I want to know what areas you want to know more about. What you want to see to get inspired, learn or help battle. .
