Cascais

Cascais/Estoril

In October, 2014, I went to Portugal with my sister. It was our first trip together alone, and it was her first trip abroad for 7 years.

We stayed at Saboia Hotel in Estoril, only 10 minutes walk from the center of Cascais where we took a couple of 25 minute train rides to Lisbon during our stay.

You might wonder why we didn’t just stay in Lisbon instead, and I asked myself the same question at first. But I have to say that I am happy about staying in Cascais. The place is beautiful and calm. If we’d stayed in Lisbon, we would probably not have gone to beautiful Cascais at all, and missed out on this cute and picturesque little fishing village.

I also have to be honest and tell you that we did not utilize the food that is supposed to be so good in Cascais. That would be my only regret of this trip.
